Perforated Ceramic Garlic or Onion Holder with blue botanical prints

We designed this open, perforated container as a garlic, onion or dried chili pepper holder. It features appropriately sized holes to promote aeration and ward off mold growth.

As a totally different use, moreover, this perforated jar is also perfect for use as a tea light candle holder lantern, either small or large, to cast an atmospheric light through its holes. You can also consider running a string through the holes to hang the candle holder.

Pottery Making Process

UNIQUE PIECES
The photographs shown are indicative. The printing of the plant on the item you receive may change slightly as each piece is unique, original and unrepeatable. Since we use real leaves and flowers for the impression, each one is different from the other, and that is what makes our products special!

Also included with the product will be a postcard that tells about the technique of making botanical pottery with real plants.

HAND-MADE OBJECTS
Each item was produced by us and is part of a series dedicated to Agneta Block Botany and Dutch Pottery of the 1600s. Small irregularities in surface, print or color are part of the craftsmanship.

PROCESS
We made the objects with a white earthenware, then printed with real flowers and leaves, hand-painted in blue, hand-signed on the bottom and baked the first time in cookie. Afterwards we glazed them with a glossy transparent crystalline and fired them again at a temperature of 960°C.

The glazes used are suitable for containing food and beverages, as they are non-toxic and lead-free.
The items can be washed in the dishwasher, but we always recommend hand washing, as in the long run aggressive dishwasher washing could ruin them.
